ASSERTIVENESS IN THE WORKPLACE

Assertiveness in the workplace is unique, in that it must be combined with a professional approach. Every action you take within the workplace is likely to leave another person, be it client or colleague, with an impression of you. It is therefore necessary to learn how to be assertive in order to feel confident, achieve your personal and company goals while building a good working relationship with clients, customers and colleagues.

This course focuses on developing an understanding about what assertiveness is,  assertiveness techniques and how to develop these skills.

Participants

This course is suitable for managers and staff who want to build confidence and improve or develop assertive behaviours in the workplace.

Learning Outcomes

Following the training participants will be able to:

  • Identify the differences between assertive, submissive and aggressive behaviours in the workplace
  • Make use of effective techniques for behaving more assertively when dealing with others in the workplace
  • Describe and use strategies for dealing with difficult situations
  • Learn how to engage others in collaborative problem solving
